Karpos
We are mountain people who work for those who live the mountains, seeking intensity in the experience and finding joy in the path that leads to it.

Why does Karpos exist? We ask ourselves this every time we go out for a night run in the fall, even when it’s raining. We ask ourselves this every evening that we load the car after work for a quick moonlight ski mountaineering excursion. We ask ourselves this every day when we find ourselves drawing in deep breaths of air tinged with the scent of rock, of woods, of the sky in our own mountains or on the other side of the world.

We have a long history that started seventy years ago as Manifattura Valcismon, at the foot of the Dolomites in Feltre. We have deep roots, intertwined with this region and with decades of experience making sportswear.

But we do not exist as a function of the past, as a lifeless repetition of a tradition. Karpos exists to imagine the future.

Our story starts from a simple idea: we exist to imagine and make possible a different way of experiencing the mountains. We exist to meet the needs of people who want to be active, people who stop because they can, not because they have to. Why? Because those people are our athletes. We are those people.

The essence of our work is to create garments that are used in a setting where people go to feel good, and to produce these garments in a way that makes those who produce them feel good. To create gear that is functional and beautiful, items that people use to eliminate the superfluous, to go light.

We aren’t here to celebrate our history. Karpos is for people who want to write their own.
